Mintia Breeze – Fresh Peach
Given the limited human interactions for me these days, coupled with the inability to share snacks with others, my propensity for mints in general has taken a nose dive. Mints, unlike Hi-Chews or a bag of chips aren’t something that can be soloed very quickly. That leaves me with a half full container sitting on my desk for months. I guess I’m just not that much of a mint guy. That being said, I never say no to a fruit flavoured Mintia, as I’ve yet to have a bad experience with them. Well, at least not with the purely fruit ones. There was a lime mint one that was a bit of a harder pill to swallow…but I digress.
Unlike the standard Mintia that comes in a compact, pocket sized plastic casing, this one is a bit bulkier and bigger, but with good reason. The Breeze line of products are larger, and they are marketed as lasting longer because of the size. Five minutes to be exact. These bigger packs hold 30 tablets, while the small ones hold 50. These are quite larger though, and while in my previous review it didn’t end up holding up to the 5 minute claim, it did last quite a bit longer than the standard sized ones.
Much like the grape ones I’ve had before, these are packed full of flavour and smell real nice. These are more of the floral variety of peaches. Think peach candles or peach body wash, as opposed to peach cobbler or peach pie. Not saying one is better than the other, just making a distinction. I could really go for a pie right about now…
As with most mints, these are like those compressed dextrose candies, where they slowly dissolve in your mouth. You can chew them sure, but it kind of defeats the purpose. Plus, the texture isn’t that conducive to chewing, on account of how chalky they are. These are best enjoyed sitting in your mouth, preferably on your tongue to allow the flavour to percolate into your palate and down your gullet.
The most important thing to remember is that these are ultimately mints, and should be treated as such. For me, mints serve a few purposes – they are a nice quick pick me up, and they help make my mouth feel refreshed. Emphasis on feel, since it’s been proven that mint doesn’t actually do anything to clean our breath. More of a placebo effect, but that’s all I really need with mint.
