Haribo – Berry Clouds
As a child, I would look up at the sky and wonder to myself, I wonder what that giant fluffy looking cloud would feel like to touch. And shortly after my next though would be, I wonder what that giant fluffy looking cloud taste like. I can only assume I am not the only who thinks of these things, because Haribo has made a product to try and help dreams like me answer that very question.
I must admit, given my past experience with Haribo’s foamy gummies, I have high expectations for these. Texture wise at least. And who can say no to these adorable cloud shapes?

Blueberry is like an artificial blueberry where it reminds me of those blue candy canes I loved as a kid. The flavour is offset by being on the sweeter side though. Not sweet enough to stop me from enjoying the nostalgia bomb of this flavour, but probably enough to stop me from eating too many in one go.
Wildberry is like the mixed berry of flavours with a little bit of everything – the most prominent flavours are raspberry and blueberry and very slight hints of strawberry. There’s not much tartness to it, but it has the hallmark floral notes that raspberry and blueberry have and make it stand out.
Strawberry is somewhat muted and just sort of tastes like nondescript berry. It like a gummy version of a sparkling water – the water has come into contact with berry flavour at some point, but it’s faint and all I can really make out is the hint of berry. The essence, or the idea of berry. Otherwise, it’s mostly just sweet gummy taste.

Something that all the flavours share, is that have this strange unmistakable cotton candy quality to the flavour. Perhaps it’s a function of how sweet and sugary they are, but they somehow remind me of how a berry flavoured cotton candy would taste like, but in a gummy marshmallow form.
The texture is very soft, and an interesting cross between very fluffy while still having a little bit of bounce in the chew. Each of them feels like it has three layers, with the top layer being the soft gummy, the middle being a white layer of sugary marshmallow, and the bottom being a flavoured foam layer. The three layers combine together to make a very pleasant, soft chewing experienced that isn’t devoid of bounce in the chew, so superior to just foamy or marshmallow gummies.
These are as good as my favourite foamy crocs or alligators, but they are still pretty pleasing as far as texture goes. While on the sweeter side, I can see myself getting these again when I want some gummies but don’t want the jaw workout.
