Mintia – Golden Peach

Sometimes when I’m feeling especially disgusting or gross, I like to get something less damaging to my body like mints. Specifically Mintia. I’ve been patronizing Mintia for years at this point, and they have had very few flavours where I didn’t enjoy them enough to either get them again or at least try. They do a good job of emulating flavours without coming across too artificial or unpleasant.

Now to be clear, this isn’t the first peach flavour I’ve had from Mintia. I had their plus flavour that was the large tablets that purportedly last 5 minutes, while these are smaller and have a much clearer packaging that emphasizes the gold.

The flavour is very refreshing and fruity. it’s reminiscent of a golden peach juice. Peach is a flavour that doesn’t seem that hard to do well since the juice does a good job of carrying the flavour on it’s own. It’s largely why I feel this does a good job of getting that flavour through, but not with an overly sweet sensation. It’s just got the right amount of sweetness to give it a refreshing but tasty quality to it, making your mouth water a little. While peach flavour is easy to replicate, it’s also surprisingly easy to mess up because of the aftertaste. Thankfully these have a clean aftertaste and doesn’t have any weird lingering unpleasantness. It’s surprising how easy it is to mess up though. Thankfully not here. There’s a lingering minty sensation but it doesn’t affect the flavour at all, and just leaves a nice sensation in the mouth when you’re done.

The little holder in the tab is revolutionary to this day.

The texture is of your typical compressed tablet – leave it on your tongue and let the flavour disperse across your tongue and let the saliva carry it away to your taste receptors. Being that it’s a tablet, it melts slowly and as it dissolves it tends to come apart as layers. The best way I can think to describe it is that it clots together so that it feels like either paper or skin, but again it melts away quickly so not too noticeable. Add to that the refreshing quality the mint leaves, and you have a tasty mint for those who don’t like standard peppermint or spearmint flavours.

25 calories for the whole thing is not bad.

Mintia is just doing what Mintia does best – random fruit flavoured mints that are equally tasty and equally refreshing. This is a great flavour and another winner I would consider a great gateway to get people interested in Mintia.

zbearviking

From the frigid, majestic North (Canada), hails a creature like no other. Is it a bear that took up viking-ing? Or a viking that turned into a bear? Perhaps it is beyond human comprehension what the creature truly is, much like Bigfoot or Nessie. What we do know, is that much like everything else in the universe, it is made of star stuff.
